Hundreds of first responders climb Autzen Stadium stairs to honor 9/11 lives lost

EUGENE, Ore. — Hundreds of first responders took to the stairs at Autzen Stadium Friday morning to remember the lives lost in the twin towers on September 11, 2001.

One we spoke with says the reason they do it every year is to never forget.

“Ya know, it’s interesting; it’s such a small thing that we’re doing here compared to what was lost that day,” says Sgt. Kyle E with the Eugene Police Department. “It’s just a small way of showing we’re not going to forget the sacrifice that all those firefighters, police officers, civilians, all the families, all the lost loved ones… It’s just a small thing we can do to remember what happened and say that we’re not going to forget what happened that day.”…
