RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A man accused of starting a small brush fire in North Reno appeared in Reno Justice Court for his arraignment Friday morning.
Damien Pineda-Contreras, 29, appeared remotely through Zoom with the help of a Spanish interpreter. He is charged with third-degree arson, a felony.
The charge stems from an Aug. 29 fire near Dandini Boulevard and Spectrum Boulevard. According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies saw a vehicle leave a vacant dirt lot near the roundabout without its headlights on, then noticed a small brush fire burning in the area…
