SAUVIE ISLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Firefighters quickly put out a structure fire early Friday morning on Sauvie Island, keeping flames from spreading to nearby buildings or brush.
Crews with the Sauvie Island Fire District were dispatched at 5:57 a.m. to a report of an outdoor structure fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a detached, gazebo-style building fully engulfed in flames.
Four fire units responded to the call. Portland Fire & Rescue initially provided mutual aid, but personnel recalled the agency shortly after arriving when they determined extra resources were not needed…
