EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The strains of “Amazing Grace” floated across Evansville’s Garvin Park Friday night, as community members came together in remembrance of the tragic events that happened 25 years ago.
They gathered for the “Light a Lantern for 9/11 Victims” event, organized by the Evansville Flag Group, to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The event kicked off at 6 p.m. with food, drinks and sweets. Attendees mingled with local firefighters, listened to speakers, then walked to the lake to release the lanterns…
