In the shadow of a steel beam that once was inside the World Trade Center, more than 100 Rutherford County first responders, officials and residents gathered to remember the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks last Friday.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office hosted the annual event at the 9/11 Memorial Garden in Murfreesboro.
“Today, we remember the lives lost 25 years ago, the families that were changed forever and the heroes who ran into danger,” RCSO Chief Deputy Todd Sparks said during the 40-minute event. “May we never forget September 11, 2001, and may we always remember the courage, sacrifice and patriotism that defined our nation 25 years ago.”…
