Central was looking to bounce back after a Week 1 loss to Acadiana, and the Wildcats wasted no time showing they were up to the task in Friday night’s Amite River rivalry game against Denham Springs.
Sparked by touchdowns on three of its first four possessions and an opportunistic defense, Central built a large halftime lead and cruised in the second half of a 41-20 win over the Yellow Jackets at Central.
“I expected us to come out and put our best foot forward,” Central coach David Simoneaux said. “We played well at times last week, but I thought we dominated the second and third quarters tonight. It’s fun to come out and do what we’re supposed to do.”…
