ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Food truck operators are one signature away from being able to set up shop in several parts St. Louis that they’ve previously been unable to operate in.
The Board of Aldermen approved Board Bill 50 on Friday, allowing food truck operators to set up in designated areas in Downtown, Downtown West, Midtown, and Cherokee Street.
Bill awaits mayor’s signature
St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer must give the final signature before the bill becomes law. The bill was sent to the mayor’s desk Friday.
In a statement Friday, Ward 14 Alderman Rasheen Aldridge, who spearheaded the bill, said the bill will “open up St. Louis to a wider variety of food options,” adding that, “less bureaucracy means more opportunity, and more opportunity means more equitable food access for our neighbors.”
