Rocky River City Council is set to vote Monday on a contract worth up to $10,945,027.58 that would replace aging water and sewer lines along western Lake Road, repave the corridor, and build a new off-road trail and parking lot near Bradstreet’s Landing. The plan calls for narrowing Lake Road by about five feet to make room for a multi-use path stretching from the Bay Village border to Avalon Drive.
According to Cleveland.com, the proposed legislation, put forward by Mayor Pamela Bobst and the city’s public safety-service director, sets the maximum contract amount for a project that bundles underground utility work with surface improvements. The report notes the city plans to contract with Fabrizi Trucking and Paving Company, which Rocky River council approved for a $6.67 million Beachcliff and Cornwall Sewer Improvement Project on July 27, 2026, according to a City of Rocky River ordinance.
Council will take up the measure Monday at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Rocky River City Hall, 21012 Hilliard Boulevard, per the same account. Existing sewers, water mains, and roadway in the project area are deteriorated, the outlet reports, and the city held a public meeting in May to present the planned changes and gather resident feedback.
What’s Actually Getting Rebuilt Underground
The water main will be replaced from the Bay Village border to Parklawn Drive, while sewer reconstruction runs from Parklawn Drive to the entrance of Rocky River’s service garage, the station’s report states. The project area will also get new pavement, curbs, and driveway aprons once the underground work wraps up.
