ROCKFORD, Ill (WTVO/WQRF) — Rockford University had its home opener today against the Elmhurst Blue Jays. Rockford held in there with Elmhurst, but the Blue Jays proved too furious, defeating the Regents 28 to 14.
Elmhurst’s quarterback Justin Carlson went 14 of 25 with 130 yards and 3 touchdowns. Two went to A.D. Russell as he finished with 4 receptions for 55 yards to go along with the touchdown. One went to running back Jonathan Billions, to go along with his 40 yards on the ground on 16 rushes.
