Guilderland Elementary looks to help family in need

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10)– The Guilderland Elementary School is rallying together in support of a family in need. According to the school, they’re collecting items for a family who lost everything in a house fire.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we have an opportunity to come together and support the family as they begin to rebuild,” Principal Allan Lockwood shared on Saturday. “Any donation, no matter the size, can help the family with immediate needs and provide some comfort as they begin the long process of rebuilding.”

The school is collecting the following items:

• Boy’s Shoes and Socks
  • Children’s 10, Youth 2
• Boy’s Clothes
  • Jeans, Pajamas, Shirts, Shorts, Underwear, Undershirts, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants
    • Sizes 7/8 and 4T
• Women’s Shoes and Socks
  • Women’s 5 1/2, size small or 5-7
• Women’s Clothes
  • Jeans, Pajamas, Shirts, Sweatshirts, Pants, Underwear, Bras
    • Size small, 32B
• Men’s Shoes and Socks
  • Size 9
• Men’s Clothes
  • Shirts, Sweatshirts,
    • Size small
• Diapers
• Pullups
• Wipes
• Towels
• Blankets
• Twin Size bedspread
• Queen Size bedspread
• Bedsheets
• Children’s Toys
• Children’s Books
• Utensils
• Dishes
• Cooking items
• Snacks
• Laundry Baskets
• Dressers
• Lamps
• Nighstands
• Gift Cards

According to the district, all items can be delivered or dropped off to the Guilderland Elementary School, located at 2225 Western Avenue. Anyone with questions can reach out to the school’s social worker Allison Megyeri by emailing [email protected].
