‘We never know what to expect’: Greensboro food truck navigates high food and gas prices

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Gary Rello runs the Taco Bros food truck and says recent increases in food and gas prices have affected his margins.

“We never know what to expect,” said Rello. “Sometimes we pull up to a gas station, and the gasoline is $4 a gallon. Sometimes it’s $3 a gallon.”

He says he always wanted to own his own Mexican restaurant, but decided to go the food truck route. He has run Taco Bros for the past seven years with his wife and brother. The business specializes in authentic Mexican street food…
