Baton Rouge interfaith leaders hold pray-for-peace vigils

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — People from different faiths gathered Sunday at 14 churches and houses of worship across the Baton Rouge area for a pray-for-peace vigil focused on unity in a community organizers say is increasingly divided.

“We are a divided community,” said Jenny Hastings with the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge. “It’s not just Florida Boulevard that separates us into two cities. It’s not just our political affiliations. It’s not just gender or age or whatever. We are a divided community.”
