TROY, NY (WRGB)- A search for a missing child ended in a rescue along the Hudson River in Troy, where a young girl with autism was pulled to safety after she wandered from home and ended up in the Hudson.
The incident happened on September 5th at around 7:30 p.m., when Amarys Lopez left her home, walked down to the waterfront and wound up in the Hudson River, holding onto a ladder along a steep seawall.
A friend of the family, Michael Schnoop, went out looking for her and found her in the river, rescuing her but unable to get both of them back over the seawall because of how high and steep it was, city officials said…
