BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) -A nationwide “AI Data Center Revolt” bus tour made a stop in central Alabama Sunday.
The “AI Data Center Revolt” bus, run by the “Humans First” campaign, arrived at the Good Art Company in the Bessemer-McCalla area. The group said big tech is targeting Alabama for large-scale “hyperscale” data centers and argues neighbors deserve a say in what gets built in their communities.
Organizers said they are not against technology or data centers but what they call a “tech takeover.” The campaign is led by Amy Kremer, a former leader in the Tea Party movement, who said communities should know what’s coming and have a voice before deals are finalized.
