EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – It was a beautiful weekend, but the heat will be making a return this week! We’ll see a brief break from the heat Monday with highs in the mid-80s. However, another blast of summer-like temperatures will be back in the Tri-State by Tuesday.
Highs will climb into the middle and upper 90s by Tuesday, with the scorching heat sticking around through at least Thursday. With humidity also increasing, heat index values could climb to around 105 degrees each afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect Tuesday, but we could see that extend into Wednesday and Thursday if the forecast holds.
The good news is that there are signs of some relief by the end of the week. Rain chances remain fairly limited, but a few showers or storms could develop as high pressure weakens. That will allow temperatures and humidity to ease back a bit, giving us slightly cooler conditions heading into next weekend…
