PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — With a high temperature of 91 degrees on Sunday afternoon, the Piedmont Triad is now tied for the fourth-most 90-degree days in one year at PTI. Records began at PTI in 1928 and so far, we’ve observed 57 days in the 90s, with more likely to come this week.
We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds this evening as temps fall into the low 80s. Overnight skies will be mostly clear and temperatures will fall into the low 70s by Monday morning.
It will be hot and muggy on Monday with mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs near the low 90s. A cold front finally makes its way through and will help usher in cooler and drier air for a few days this week.
