A longtime name in the American seafood industry is preparing for a major reduction in its California operations. Nearly 200 workers are expected to lose their jobs later this year as Bumble Bee Foods moves toward shutting down a Southern California facility.
Bumble Bee Foods has filed a California WARN notice announcing plans to lay off 197 employees at its facility at 13100 Arctic Circle in Santa Fe Springs, California. The layoffs are scheduled to take effect November 19, 2026.
Facility closure follows years of change
The Santa Fe Springs operation has been associated with Bumble Bee’s canned seafood business for years. The planned closure represents another major change for the company, which has undergone significant restructuring in recent years.
The latest WARN filing was submitted August 11 and provides advance notice of the November layoffs. Bumble Bee previously reported another 56 layoffs at the same Santa Fe Springs address in December 2025, meaning the latest announcement brings the company’s known California job reductions at the facility to more than 250 workers.
