Richmond receives $32.8 million in state grant for water plant project

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Regional Water Workgroup approved $32.8 million in funding for the city of Richmond’s Water Treatment Plan (WTP)filter project.

On Friday, Sept. 11, Richmond announced in a press release that $32.8 million in state funding was approved for the WTP filter project after the Richmond Regional Water Workgroup met.

This new funding allows Richmond to continue a crucial project to upgrade the WTP and represents a $12.8 million increase over the original $20 million.
