TOLEDO, Ohio — Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire Monday morning inside a second-floor apartment in Toledo’s Old West End.
Crews responded after 2 a.m. to a nine-story apartment building in the 100 block of 23rd Steet near Jefferson and Oakwood avenues where they discovered fire coming from a second-floor window, according to Toledo fire officials.
They upgraded the response to a second alarm, bringing additional crews and equipment to the scene. Crews also removed the tenant from the apartment where the fire started, and medics transported the person to a hospital for further evaluation for possible smoke inhalation…
