IOWA CITY, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — Sheriff Brad Kunkel went live on Facebook Sunday evening after a sewer backup at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and jail facility.
Sheriff Kunkel said he “thought it was good for the public to see one of the things we’re constantly dealing with.” This comes as the county is working on a proposal for a new sheriff’s office and jail.
Kunkel said the backup was simply toilets being flushed by inmates in the jail and they system was overwhelmed. Water and debris flowed from a toilet onto the floor of the sheriff’s office…
