A longtime family-owned Baton Rouge jewelry business is changing ownership after more than 45 years.
Bayardo Hannon Jirón, owner of Hannon Jewelers, plans to retire and hand off the business to a former employee who is returning home. Jimmy and Stacey Butts, a husband and wife currently working in the jewelry business in Arkansas, purchased Hannon Jewelers last month for $350,000, according to sale documents.
Jirón will continue working for another year as a mentor to the duo and provide consulting and appraisal services.
