Documentary Spotlights Iowa State Fair Yard Parkers

(Des Moines, IA) — A new documentary is shining a spotlight on a unique Iowa State Fair tradition: homeowners who transform their yards into temporary parking lots for fairgoers.

Filmed during the 2025 Iowa State Fair, Parkers offers a fly-on-the-wall look at the people who spend the fair’s 11-day run directing traffic, collecting parking fees and dealing with the daily chaos that comes with thousands of visitors arriving at the fairgrounds.
