Allina Health doctors begin 4-day strike at 2 Minnesota hospitals

More than 150 Allina Health doctors are now on strike after contract talks ended on Sunday night without a deal.

The four-day strike started Monday morning at 7 a.m. at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and its Unity campus in Fridley.

Represented by Doctors Counsil-SEIU, the group is striking for better pay, benefits and more time off but Allina says both hospitals will remain open during the four-day strike.

During the strike, Allina says they have plans to prevent care disruptions. This all comes in the middle of weeklong strike by hospice workers at Allina Health over higher wages and a better work-life balance…
