SAPULPA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Historical Society hosted a free screening of “Crossroads of America: Oklahoma’s Route 66” at Tee-Pee Drive-In Theater in Sapulpa.
The documentary is about the evolution of the Mother Road in Oklahoma, from the hardships of the Dust Bowl era to post-World War II road trips.
“There are many films that are about Route 66 in general, ” said Trait Thompson, the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society. “This is the only one that is specially tied to Oklahoma. This is a project in which the Oklahoma Historical Society engaged Bryan here to be our director. We got a fantastic grant from the Inasmuch Foundation to be able to produce this film.”…
