In a touching Instagram post, Mackie described Parton as “a lovely soul and spirit who was fair to everyone” and “a joy and pleasure to dress.” Accompanying his message were photographs of original sketches for some of Parton’s most memorable outfits, including the famous butterfly gown she wore during the 1979 television special Dolly & Carol in Nashville.
