Man accused of taking inappropriate photos of teen girls at Ballantyne Target

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 31-year-old man is facing felony charges after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said he followed several teenage girls and attempted to take inappropriate photos of them inside a Target store in the Ballantyne area.

According to CMPD and court records, officers responded to the Target at 9870 Rea Road around 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, after store loss prevention reported the man’s behavior.

‘Trying to take photos with his phone’

Authorities said surveillance video showed the suspect, identified as Adem Tyler Shrader, approaching a 17-year-old girl from behind and squatting down while positioning his cellphone underneath her skirt without her knowledge.

According to court records, Shrader was later seen following three 15-year-old girls into the girls’ clothing section. Investigators said he positioned himself behind a clothing rack and attempted to place his phone behind the girls.

Taken into custody at the check-out area

Police said Shrader continued following the girls toward the checkout area, where he was detained by store personnel and officers…
