COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A long-term power outage is not just a minor inconvenience — it can come with serious financial costs.
Ohio Reps. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) and David Thomas (R-Jefferson) are preparing to introduce legislation that would reimburse electricity ratepayers after a sustained power outage.
With the country dealing with an aging power grid and increasingly extreme weather, Rader and Thomas said prolonged power outages can affect any part of the state, both rural and urban.
