Stockton’s Día de los Muertos Street Fiesta Invites Community to Celebrate Life, Memory and Tradition

Downtown Stockton will come alive with color, music, art and remembrance on Saturday, October 24, when the Mexican Heritage Center & Gallery hosts its annual Día de los Muertos Community Street Fiesta. The family-friendly celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mexican Heritage Center, bringing the community together to honor loved ones while celebrating the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Visitors can expect an afternoon filled with live performances, traditional ofrendas, local vendors, food and cultural activities. More than simply a festival, the event provides an opportunity for families and community members to share memories and celebrate the lives of those who have passed through one of Mexico’s most meaningful traditions.

A special part of this year’s celebration is the invitation for community members to create and display their own ofrendas, or memorial altars, honoring family members and loved ones.
