Jury selection is underway in the Jefferson Parish trial of a man and woman charged with working together to drug and rob French Quarter tourists, a yearslong scheme that authorities say led to the death of a Kansas City sports reporter who traveled to New Orleans to cover the 2025 Super Bowl.
Danette Colbert, 49, of Slidell, and Rickey White, 35, of Harvey, are charged with manslaughter and racketeering in the death of 27-year-old Adan Manzano.
A third defendant, Christian Anderson, 34, of Slidell, is also charged with manslaughter and racketeering. His case was severed from Colbert and White’s following a hearing on Aug. 5, according to court records…
