CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Star Gospel Mission, Charleston’s oldest independent faith-based charity, has partnered with a local restaurant owner to raise money and awareness for women and children experiencing homelessness in the Lowcountry.
Michael Toscano, chef and owner of da Toscano, teamed up with the organization’s program to create and sell a series of weekly focaccia sandwiches, with proceeds benefiting Star Gospel Mission’s efforts to support families in need.
For the past 12 weeks, Toscano has introduced a different sandwich each week as part of the fundraising collaboration. The final sandwich in the series was unveiled this week and will be available through Sept. 20…
