Bicyclist dies after being hit by car on I-95 in Cumberland County: NCSHP

GODWIN, N.C. (WNCN) — A bicyclist is dead following a crash on Interstate 95 in Cumberland County early Tuesday morning, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

According to the NCSHP, the bicyclist was struck by a vehicle around 3 a.m. on I-95 North under the Sherrill Baggett Road Bridge after Exit 65 and before Mile Marker 66 near Godwin.

Other vehicles may have hit the bicyclist after the original crash, according to the NCSHP.

Troopers said I-95 North will be closed around Exit 65 and Mile Marker 66 while they investigate.
