Sometimes a concert moment becomes way bigger than the song itself, and that moment happened this past weekend in Rosemont, Illinois.
A Promise Made in Indianapolis
10-year-old Austin, a Garth Brooks fan from Indianapolis, got a promise from the country superstar during Brooks’ tour stop in Indiana after Austin brought a sign asking him to perform “Cold Like That” during Garth’s August show.
Brooks tried to oblige, but suddenly went blank when he attempted to remember the lyrics. Instead of letting the moment end there, Brooks promised Austin and his family that he would fly them to Chicago, where he could rehearse and make it happen.
Austin Gets His Song in Rosemont
That promise was kept Saturday night, September 12, at Allstate Arena just outside of Chicago, during the third of Garth’s four shows.
