Grand Jury Indicts Orange Man in Fatal Route 287 Crash That Killed Tow Operator DJ Ortiz

HARDING — A Morris County Grand Jury has indicted Pierre Innocent in connection with the crash that killed tow truck operator Daniel “DJ” Ortiz on Interstate 287 last July, according to Ortiz’s family and supporters.

Innocent, of Orange, faces the following charges:

  • Reckless Vehicular Homicide, N.J.S.A. 2C:11-5
  • Violation of a Law Intended to Promote Public Safety, N.J.S.A. 2C:40-18

Both charges are being brought as second-degree offenses.
