The Newark Police Department could be heading for heavy turnover soon, but they said they should not be the center of any budget-balancing cuts.
19 Newark Police officers, or 24% of their force, are currently retirement eligible, with at least 20 years of service, with 10 having at least 25 years on the job, according to Newark Police Chief Mark Farrall during a budget hearing Monday.
