Man in Omaha’s Eppley Airfield explosive case says father packed device in his bag

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Investigators took a man into custody, alleging he brought an explosive in his bag through the security checkpoint at Eppley Airfield. For the first time, he is explaining how he believes it got there.

The government calls it an explosive. The defense team calls it a firework. In some circles, it could be considered both.

Either way, the 4-inch item, tucked inside an orange pill bottle, passed through a TSA checkpoint on Sept. 5 at Eppley Airfield, along with a butane lighter. Neither side disputes that…
