Spokane Valley, Wash. — WSU Master Gardeners shared fall gardening advice focused on preparing yards and garden beds for colder weather.
NonStop Local spoke with the group at its extension office in Spokane Valley, where gardeners said trees need deep watering before freezing temperatures arrive. They also advised people to dig up plants that will not survive winter, including dahlias, while leaving hardier crops like carrots and parsnips in place.
