OXNARD, Calif. (KGET) – Three Bakersfield World War II veterans took a half-hour tour of the Southern California coast Saturday in a B-17 Flying Fortress.
The three centenarians took their spin in the clouds out of the Oxnard Airport thanks to the generosity of the A-Z Foundation Group.
“It wasn’t nervous at all; in fact I kinda liked it,” said 102-year-old Bill Glaspie, who served in General George Patton’s Army during the war.

He was joined on the flight by 102-year-old Everett Williams, who was a B-29 side-gunner in the Army Air Force, and Ronald Holdsworth, who was an aircraft mechanic in Britain’s Royal Air Force…
