National railroad safety ‘See Tracks? Think Train Week’ kickoff event in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A railroad safety week begins with an educational event Monday.

Michigan Operation Lifesaver (MOL), Michigan’s branch of the national rail safety education nonprofit Operation Lifesaver, is partnered with the Michigan Railroads Association and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the “See Tracks? Think Train Week” (ST3Week) kickoff event 10 a.m. Monday at the Burdick Street Amtrak Station.

ST3Week, put on by Operation Lifesaver and formerly known as Rail Safety Week, began in 2017 and this year is from Monday, Sept., 21, to Sunday, Sept. 27. It’s intent is to promote safety around railroad tracks, reducing injuries and deaths…
