Police: Man seen kicking windshield, driving stolen car during South City takeover charged

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – St. Louis police have arrested a man in connection with a Bevo Mill street takeover.

Andrew Patterson, 21, faces charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, first-degree property damage and stunt driving during a street takeover, according to court records.

Patterson faces the charges after a street takeover in the Bevo Mill neighborhood on Sept. 6. The takeover, which occurred at the intersection of Gravois and Morgan, culminated in a car stolen from Maryland Heights being set on fire.

A probable cause statement said police have video of Patterson kicking the windshield of a stolen Kia, getting into it and then driving away before the car was set on fire…
