WOODBURN Ore. (KPTV) – The Woodburn City Council approved a 120-day freeze on new data center projects Monday night following a public hearing.
The temporary ban halts the acceptance, review, and approval of city permits and development proposals for new data storage, processing, and information technology facilities under the Woodburn Development Ordinance. The measure does not affect other industrial projects.
City officials plan to use the four-month window to update zoning rules, examine utility and infrastructure needs, and reassess location criteria. Staff will also study how future facilities might affect local water, energy, and noise levels…
