AVERILL PARK, N.Y. (WNYT) – State police are searching for a missing 17-year-old in Sand Lake.New York State Police troopers responded about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Garner Road for a report of a missing or runaway teenager. The release said 17-year-old Ashton Cushman was last seen near Garner Road.
There was a large police presence at the home Tuesday night, and a helicopter circled the surrounding area for several hours.Cushman is described as white, with blonde hair, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 120 pounds, according to State Police. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black sweatpants and black flip-flops.State police said Ashton is believed to be on foot and may be suffering from a mental health crisis. It said it is unknown whether he is armed, and the public should use caution and not approach him.If located, call 911 immediately, according to State Police.
