A Helpful Guide To Celebrating Friday’s National Cheeseburger Day Around Town

This Friday is National Cheeseburger Day, celebrating one of the most popular sandwiches in America. And the best way to celebrate is to go to your favorite burger joint and eat a cheeseburger.

The hamburger was created in America in the 1900’s but the cheeseburger was created much later and by accident: in 1926 a 16-year-old fry cook dropped a slice of cheese on a hamburger while working at his father’s sandwich shop.

I’ve enjoyed many great cheeseburgers, mostly in small mom-and-pop eateries, so here are a few recommendations you might enjoy.

Every Friday at Ronnie’s Bar & Grill, Chattanooga’s oldest dive bar which was established in 1959 is a great Friday for burgers. On Fridays it’s first come, first served until they sell out. Get a half-pound burger plus a side for only $10. Wash that down with an ice-cold beer. My experience there was phenomenal. Bring cash! No cards accepted…
