Drumming, dancing and the smell of traditional food will fill the air in Santa Ynez next month as tribes from across North America gather for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians’ largest cultural event of the year.
The Chumash Intertribal Powwow returns Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, at the corner of Meadowvale Road and Highway 246. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, and is open to the public. Admission is $5, with children 12 and under and parking free.
