LUBBOCK, Texas — As the city continues to grow, new businesses and restaurants are opening across the city, but there’s one family business that is carrying on a tradition that began nearly six decades ago.
Jimenez Y Friends on 34th Street is part of a family legacy that has spanned generations — and several locations throughout Lubbock. The Jimenez and Flores families have spent decades sharing their food, recipes and culture with the community.
“The first concept would be a taco shop that also sells burritos. We do craft barbecue. And then the next part of the business, we do pan dulce. So that’s going to be the bread and butter. That is what started the legacy,” said the social media manager, pitmaster and co-owner, Michael Flores.
