CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC is withdrawing its challenge to a citation issued by the North Carolina Department of Labor after the electrocution death of Charlotte lineman Zachary Jones, according to recently filed court documents.
In a Sept. 8 filing with the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, Duke Energy notified the commission of its decision to withdraw its notice of contest and asked that a scheduled pre-hearing conference be indefinitely continued. The company said it is in the process of completing requirements related to the withdrawal and is paying the penalty associated with the citation.
