145 streetlights out on I-526 near Don Holt Bridge raises concerns about driver awareness

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Drivers who commute early in the morning or late at night across the Don Holt Bridge may have noticed the trip is darker than usual, with dozens of streetlights out along a six-mile stretch of Interstate 526.

Between the I-26/I-526 interchange and Clements Ferry Road, approximately 145 lights have gone out. News 4’s Trooper Bob said he reported the issue to SCDOT, but in the meantime, the danger to motorists remains.
