Local schools flagged for concerning patterns on tests

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is investigating potential testing irregularities across the state after an analysis of spring 2026 data flagged dozens of schools for abnormal results, the ODEW confirmed to FOX 8.

The state agency sent letters to 52 Ohio schools requesting documentation, including three within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and 12 charter schools in Cuyahoga County.

The three CMSD Schools on the list are:

  • Clark School
  • Paul L. Dunbar Elementary School
  • Robinson G. Jones Elementary School

Nine of the 12 charter schools in the area are operated by Accel Schools. They are:

  • Broadway Academy in Cleveland
  • Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy
  • Cleveland Preparatory Academy
  • Cleveland Sports Academy
  • Ginn-Thompson School for Girls in Cleveland
  • Lincoln Park Academy
  • Northstar School of Innovation & Leadership in Cleveland
  • Ohio College Preparatory School in Maple Heights
  • STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights
