If you won a bid at Cuyahoga County’s forfeited land auction earlier this month, check the county’s Rules of Sale for payment requirements and deadlines.
The three-day sale ran at the Huntington Convention Center on St. Clair Avenue in downtownCleveland, moving through properties seized from owners who fell behind on real estate taxes, according to the county’s forfeited lands page. The county provides payment and closing requirements in its Rules of Sale.
Buyer beware
The county stresses that all purchases are “buyer beware.”
Buyers are strongly encouraged to contact a real estate attorney and/or title company before closing, and to check with the parcel’s local building department about any condemnation or demolition orders. Review the county’s risks disclosure before assuming you know what you’re getting.
