GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office reports a man has been arrested after several animals were found living in poor conditions at a homeless encampment.
Matthew Earl Kessens is facing the following charges:
- Trespassing After Notice
- (4 counts) Rabies tag violation
- (5 counts) Ill treatment of animals
- Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, third and subsequent offense
Deputies report discovering a homeless encampment behind a business on Hunts Bridge Road and found several animals without access to food or water. They had to cut rope from around two of the animal’s necks.
Animal Control took possession of four dogs and one duck, which appeared to have its wings clipped, according to deputies.
