Two marmots jumped onto a vehicle leaving Burning Man, passed out from drinking radiator fluid and woke up in San Francisco. At least that’s one theory behind two wayward marmots now in the care of Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue, a San Francisco nonprofit that thinks the hitchhiking animals came from the Lake Tahoe area.
Both marmots were reported Sept. 4, with one found in San Francisco’s Mission District and the other just northeast of San Francisco.
